T<\/span>he United Left Platform (ULP) is hosting a meeting to help build the movements in opposition to U.S. imperialism\u00a0 and in solidarity with everyone struggling against Trump\u2019s wars abroad and those here in the U.S.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ULP is a coalition of revolutionary socialist organizations in the U.S., <\/span>completely and unequivocally condemns<\/span><\/a> the Trump administration\u2019s illegal and unwarranted military attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of President Nichol\u00e1s Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, the former President of Venezuela\u2019s National Assembly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ULP has equally <\/span>expressed its absolute solidarity <\/span><\/a>with the heroic resistance of people in Minnesota to the U.S. state\u2019s war against its citizens and non-citizens alike and has called on people everywhere to join in the resistance wherever they are and however they can.<\/span><\/p>\n

Justin Akers Chac\u00f3n <\/b>is an activist, labor unionist, and Professor of Chicana\/o History at San Diego City College who lives in the San Diego-Tijuana border region. He is the author of <\/span>The Border Crossed Us: The Case for Opening the US-Mexico Borderand Radicals in the Barrio: Magonistas, Socialists, Wobblies, and Communists in the Mexican-American Working Class<\/span><\/a>; he is also the co-author, with Mike Davis, of <\/span>No One is Illegal: Fighting Racism and State Violence on the U.S.-Mexico Border<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Blanca Miss\u00e9 <\/b>is an Associate Professor of French in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at San Francisco State University. Their specialties are the Enlightenment Francophone literature and culture, as well as Marxism, feminist theory, and film studies. They are an active member of their union (CFA-SFSU) and their local Faculty for Justice in Palestine (FJP) chapter, as well as the Ukraine Solidarity Network and Bay Area Labor for Palestine. They are affiliated with Workers\u2019 Voice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sim\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez <\/b>is a Venezuelan socialist writer and journalist. He was a student organizer and later became professor at the Universidad de los Andes. When he was a member of the national leadership of the Socialism and Freedom Party, he ran as a candidate for the National Assembly in 2015. He is a founding member of Laclase.info and Venezuelanvoices.org and has published articles in Humania del Sur, NACLA Report on the Americas, The New Arab, and Rebeli\u00f3n and on dozens of electronic outlets, and his articles have been translated into six languages. He has given talks and lectures in Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. He is coauthor with Miguel Sorans of the book <\/span>Why Did Chavismo Fail? A Left-Opposition Balance Sheet<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
